Rick and Morty is regarded by many as one of the best animated shows on TV right now, and I would have to agree. While I don’t think it is quite the ‘intellectual masterpiece’ some try and offer it up as, I do think it’s a very well written and inventive show that clearly loves the sci-fi and pop culture that it is parodying (and that is absolutely a compliment not a criticism in any way).

In this season, which was set in two parts, we have a wide variety of adventures, some of which worked and some that didn’t, but the ones that did work, were really strong and made it a impressive season of TV overall.

Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are very specific and talented creative voices in this medium and I hope they keep experimenting and try to better themselves as the show continues.

I found the finale, with Space Beth and the ‘arcs’ for each character particularly impressive and was a great example of what the show can be at its best.

I hope the wait for season 5 is a lot shorter than the wait for season 4 was.

Rating = 4/5
